Dear Fellow Registrars,
Here we are halfway through with 2012 and I hope everybody had a wonderful spring. For those of you who wrote and passed the CTR examination last March, I wish to convey my sincere Congratulations and for the prospective candidate for the fall examination, I wish you Good Luck!Recently, a survey form was sent to our members asking for feedback regarding the “Future of OCRA”. Please, it is important for everyone to send in their thoughts, comments, and actions as to where the organization is heading in the next 5 years, if we want OCRA to continue to function to the level of the original purpose why it was created.
I would also want to take the opportunity to tell you of my last day at Kaiser Permanente, July 2. I will retire but will finish my term as President, will continue to be proactive as a member and will be around to offer my help in catching up of abstracting cases where offered.
There is so much opportunities out there for Registrars and I would encourage everyone to stay abreast of the changes in the Registry field; they are daunting, intimidating, and challenging but at the same time, it will make us and the future registrars more prepared for what is next to come.
Lastly, I am requesting a volunteer to host the 2013 Fall Workshop. If there will be no volunteers, then the 2012 EC will decide and may resort to assign a facility. Have a wonderful summer.
